LatAm President, Takeda

Gaby Pittis is currently LatAm President (excl. Brazil), headquartered in Buenos Aires, Argentina and is responsible for this geographic area. Gaby has more than 35 years of experience on rare genetic diseases and orphan drugs business around Europe and Latin America. With a PhD in molecular biology from the University of Buenos Aires, her expertise spans research & development, company & business integration, strategic planning, geographic expansion, alliance management, patient support programs and KOLs engagement. Prior to her role at Takeda, Gaby held the position of Head of LATAM region at Shire, since January 2018. Prior to that, Gaby spent 10 years in general management positions across Shire, including leading Colombia, Andean, Argentina, and South Cone regions as well as Medical Science and Medical Affairs positions. Before her time at Shire, Gaby was a researcher at the National Academy of Medicine and Garrahan Hospital. Then she moved to Italy where she continued developing her career at the International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology and led the Metabolic Diseases Laboratory of the Pediatric Hospital “Burlo Garofolo” and Area di Ricerca. Gaby is driven by making a positive impact in the lives of people by providing solutions to patients with life-altering conditions. Gaby has outstanding leadership qualities focused on driving change as well as striving transformational mentoring.
