BIOGRAPHY
Samantha Hennessey leads Local Social Responsibility at Google.org—Google’s philanthropy—across the Americas. Within her role, she leads a $50M+ grantmaking portfolio in the United States, Canada and Latin America that addresses systems level societal problems, and that is sensitive to the unique needs of local communities. Samantha’s work focuses on the most marginalized communities with a strong gender and racial justice lens. Samantha has spent the last 15 years creating positive social change through strategic philanthropy and innovative social impact programs across the globe. Samanta is a Fellow at the Aspen Institute’s Business and Society Program, and previously worked in the public sector, including the Connecticut Department of Children and Families and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). Samantha holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Yale University and a Professional Certificate in Social Entrepreneurship from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
