BIOGRAPHY
Sebastian is an economist specialized in economic development, impact investment, sustainable finance and public policy, with vast global experience in urban development, socio-economic informality, labor market development and conflict economics. Sebastian is a partner at New Ventures, acts as Chief Policy Officer for The Global Steering Group for Impact Investment (GSG) and heads the Secretariat of the Impact Taskforce (ITF) established under the 2021 UK presidency of the G7. He is also an inaugural member of the inaugural Sustainability Consultative Committee of the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) established by the IFRS Foundation, and of the Technical Board of the International Foundation for Valuing Impacts (IFVI). Previously, he served as Secretary of State for Socio-Urban Integration at Argentina’s Ministry of Health and Social Development and as Coordinator of Projects at Argentina’s Cabinet Office, was the inaugural Executive Director of the GSG and Chief Economist of The Portland Trust, a British NGO promoting peace and stability between Israelis and Palestinians through economic development. Sebastián holds a BA in Economics from the University of Buenos Aires (Argentina) and an MSc in Economic Development from the University of Sussex (UK).
